21 data points? Wow, I'm betting the farm on the conclusions I can draw from that.

Asset Class Performance during the Bush Years
I realize that 12/12/2000 is the day Florida was decided, but there's no way Bush would have any impact for another month. Bush was widely expected as the next president before that date. Why not use the Election Day or his inauguration date? Do these numbers fit your perpective better? The Commodity Futures Modernization wasn't signed into law until 12/21/2000 by President Clinton. Your premise that past legislation has no effect and the President Elect's future policies and decisions are the major influence of the equity sectors is seriously flawed and damages any creditibly your "Investment Group" has.

I'm investing in real estate - outside the US. At least I'll have a nice warm beach to sit on while Americans are taxed into a depression.

      Vouchers Against Forclosures?
      ariesl,

If it's too expensive to buy a place to live, RENT! No one had to buy a house. That's the advice I gave to a friend who moved there in 2006. Sure he still paid through the nose for a couple years, but he's not hung with underwater mortgage now.

candooman has it right. It started in 1977 and was made worse in 1999. Was there greed on Wall Street? Sure. Was there greed by mortgage brokers/underwriters/a... estate agents/contractors/inv... in every city across the country? Absolutely. Expect people to act in their own best interest.

Great, now I have to resist covering my short and going long oil just because Cramer said it's going to $50.

LOL @ Al Rob. In Phil's defense, I think he has more good ideas than bad (even if they're all incorrectly based on everything being Bush's fault). Honestly Phil, the daily political rant is old. If you KNOW a market is being manipulated higher, go long. If you KNOW a market is being manipulated lower, go short. I don't care who is getting rich and who is getting screwed.
FeverBuster - terrible idea. Not only do you want the government manipulating the price of oil with the SPR, but also you want them to lie about it? I wouldn't want them messing with the price of oil as much as I wouldn't want them messing with the price of AAPL, X, HAL, BUD, or GOOG.

      The Politics of Hurricane Insurance
Why have insurance at all? The "gubment" bails out those who are too stupid to cover themselves for the event of a catastrophe. Insurance is legalized racketeering. The only reason they don't have higher profits is because they are so bloated with unproductive, dead-weight employees.

I don't mind if she pumps it as long as her facts are researched and she discloses her position. I just don't want to hear "I told you so," in a year. I could pump any random stock and I would probably be right (eventually).
