The Market Domino Effect: Staying Ahead of the Curve
Silver-Bullet - I agree with everything you say, but you ruin it with your last sentence. And I think you meant "whether". Sorry, I just had to comment.

I agree completely. It's time to start playing hardball, and transition our economy using new energy technology

      The Reincarnation of Ford?
The way I see it, transportation has a three pronged energy application:

Fleet Vehicles - Hydrogen & Natural Gas
      Farm Vehicles - Ethanol
      Trucks & Rail- Diesel
Commuter - Electric, & other experimental hybrids including compressed air.

In this capacity Ford must LEAD, not follow. Moreover, this strategy markedly reduces foreign oil consumption and puts the fuel
producers closest to their respective end users. This also assumes
nuclear power will return. I'm hoping for the best on this one.

The Treasury, Fed and Bankers Are Setting the Bull Traps
Over the weekend, I was talking with my wife about the big jump in the market on Friday. Even she, who knows little to nothing about investing, scoffed. What does that tell you?

Many Investors Seem To Think the Worst Is Over
Correct me if I'm wrong, but most of the better than expected gains were from international sales. So perhaps the worst is over for the multi-nationals, but what about the domestic economy? I think the financials were due for a bounce anyway. But I guess I'm not quite as optimistic. There are still a lot of potholes ahead.

      GM Looks Beyond Oil
I have a battery powered 4 wheel scooter. I've owned it since 1999. It has never failed me. I take to the grocery store, and around town. Just keep it charged and the battery life is indefinite. Lots of golf carts are also electric. Why is the electric vehicle so difficult to embrace? I think GM needs to get with the times here. Forget biofuels - leave that for the farmers to use.

Walking Away: The Next Mortgage Crisis
Good article. All your points are valid, and sadly true. The only questions I would counter with are-

      1) Where are these people supposed to live? At least they have a roof over their head with tax deductible interest. Property taxes should drop over time as well.

      2) Investing should be long term. When I buy a stock, I don't expect it to go up overnight.

Granted, the numbers are a lot larger and the situation is more complicated. But in this case I think time is your friend.

Apple to Experience Market Share Madness
Three years ago my wife told me Apple was the way to go. Always the skeptic, I kept my Compaq with Windows XP just in case. Since that time we have had zero problems. The OS is superior in every way and very intuitive. After the headaches I've had with PC's, I have no plans to ever go back. I don't know if it justifies the stock price but it sure is a great product line. Seeing is believing.

      Considerations on Investing in China
Roger - I did the exact same thing. When I heard the brokerages were opening new accounts over there at the rate of 100,000 a day, (it was something like that), I felt it was a bad sign. Although I walked with a little over 30%, I missed another 30% or so. But you raise good points, and I have yet to step back in. I just feel safer in Brazil/Latin America & India for now.

Piper: eBay Beginning to Turn Corner
Ebay is an interesting animal. I have sold tons of stuff on Ebay and made some good money. They constantly innovate - I notice it the most in the "Sell an Item" feature. Each time I try to sell something, it's kind of annoying to navigate something new. I still hate their "customer service", if you can call it that. It's more like "my way or the highway", especially if you violate some stupid rule. The Paypal fees are too high. And I guess lately there are some new fees as well. But in their defense, they seem to be listening on some level. And as long as they are the only game in town, I will continue to play. But I won't buy their stock because it just seems like a contradiction for me.
