    • Sirius, XM: FCC Determined to Establish Its Authority [view article]
It's time the FCC stands up and tells these AG's and Senators that the customers want this and it's going to happen. The DOJ already stated that there was no anti trust issues here so why are we still waiting for approval of this siri/xm merger,I'll tell you why,it's an election year. This is also the only reason these AG's and senators are acting like they even care about the issue. The idea mentioned above on leasing band width to supply free sat radio to people who decided not to continue with their subscription or never activated at all is absolutely insane. It's funny the gov't is the ones who deregulated cable with no restrictions what so ever and now the monthly prices are unreal and you have "NO" choice of which cable company you go to as there is only 1 that owns your area and they even own some of the dish service which is your other option . Now as of feb 2009 there is now more analog tv which means most of the remaining people who don't have cable or dish will now end up having to get it or buy a converter. Of course the converter will as with any electronic devise probably need to be upgraded over time.
So if the handful of senators and Ag's complaining and wanting free sat radio offered to a select few listed in the article then maybe everyone who owns a sat tv dish or old cable box they no longer subscribe to or pay for should be offered free cable or dish service. Doesn't make any sense I know so why should would it for sat radio either.
I am mad as hell about the FCC dragging there political feet on this merger both as an investor and as someone who is wanting to become a customer as soon as the merger is APPROVED.
The deal sat radio is offering with ala carte pricing is something after all this time cable has never offered!!

In closing I say to everyone speak up and be heard to the FCC as your voice is a political vote which means something to someones ears i guarantee you!!!
