      S&P 500 Energy Stocks
I guess due to the recent sell-off in energy no one will continue to drive ICE cars or it will actually get cold this winter.

Demand for Oil Starts to Falter
The Saudis aren't stupid prices will drop until the world abandons alternate fuel & conservation. Then get ready for more of the same.

Right on Paul! The Saudis and all the other oil price fixers watch consumer sentiment very closely..if there is a tendency for widespread alternate fuel, supply will increase, and prices will drop until the alternate fuel people go away. Happened during the Carter years.

Power Save Energy Co: Non Existent Internal Controls
I believe the ROI on solar systems is a lot less than wind turbines if installed in areas that have power lines already in-place.

A 2 ft by 4 ft solar panel provides 15 watts of power , enough to power one 13 watt compact flourescent lamp (CFL). Installed cost would be about $200. Do the math.

So, Do We Own Fannie and Freddie or Don't We?
I believe at the slightest hint of trouble the Feds should require upper management of a Federally backed financial institution be forced to step down and be replaced with new management not previously associated with that institution.

This would force the new management to dig deep into the organization and clean up any problems (and people) which they had no part of creating. The new management would be rated on the performance of the company after a reasonable period of time.

Time For Another Look At Geothermals?
Great article Michael and as Danno pointed out the by-products may be more valuable than the product. As far as corrosive water/steam thats what heat exchangers are for.

Oil Prices Down? Refiner Stocks to Benefit
Right on Roger! Do the pundits believe it won't get cold this winter or people will quit driving? Should we ban the sale of petroleum based products and coal starting today? Are alternative fuels ready to take over? Or will it take awhile..say ten years? In the meantime how will the proterters get to their marches. Maybe they will march from Frisco?

If someone falls off an aircraft carrier in the North Atlantic you don't try and turn the ship around to rescue them...it takes too long. Same for the energy crisis...it will take awhile so don't throw away your oil credit card just yet.

RNC / DNC: Crisis? What Crisis?
I'm thinking we should be sure we've seen a complete global enviromental cycle, before we declare "global warming" has occured.

Has anyone obtained a good correlation? Or, just a Nobel Prize?

      2 Top Energy Sector Bets
Jimmy Carter our resident "expert" killed nuclear power in the US. Two plants ready to start up, dismantled and sold for scrap.

I was stationed aboard three nuclear subs for about six years. We never had a problem. I would often go into the upper level of the reactor compartment to study because is was so clean, well lighted and quiet.

Now we have an energy crisis. And, Jimmy is still shooting his mouth off with trash!

      What's So Special About RadioShack? - Barron's
Having been in electronics for the last 50 years if I have to go into a Radio Shack I always remain searching for the item long after the clerk says they don't have it. I usually find what I need. I'm amazed they can stay in business with the people they hire, even the owners don't have a clue!
