    • Giving Cramer the Benefit of Sirius Doubt [view article]
I find it so hilarious that ANY article that does not meet the expectations of all the Siriots out there automatically gets bashed.

Brandon has been nothing but positive on Sirius XM. He simply takes one step back from the hysteria you freaks are in to think that perhaps Cramer is not the devil in disguise that you all paint him to be, and now Brandon is a traitor to everyone!

Perhaps these are the unsophisticated investors that Mel was speaking of.... Cant look past their own noses at a possibilit, even when it is posted by a Sirius XM supporter. Rediculous.

    • Significant Value in Combined Siri/XM from Merger Synergies - Citi [view article]
      @ xfireblake:

You went on MARGIN for these speculative stocks with all the uncertainty surrounding them?

      HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA...

Ever heard the saying only gamble with what you can afford to lose? Never put a spec stock on Margin. The $6000 you lost might be worth learning that...

If it helps, I just placed my sell orders for XMSR at $20 and SIRI at $4.25 just in case I miss a good pop early in the morning. Other than that, I plan on being at my computer all afternoon tommorrow to enjoy the action. Jul 27 11:02 PM

JPM and User 233387: I have a very simple answer for you: It depends.

I can almost guarentee the arb spread will close VERY quickly monday morning. Everyone knows this is practically over, even the NAB. The NAB may file suit to block this thing, but they cannot delay this into November and they know that. They may go ahead and save their money to actually upgrade their own services... Ok, sorry, that was a joke.

The sell/hold question depends on your investing style and your belief in the sector. I believe in Sirius/XM as a great long term prospect. I have bought quite a few shares however for the merger play. I will sell off those shares, but keep my core investment intact and hold for the long term. Radio does have a future, even in the world of ipods and internet radio and the infamous WiFi (when it finally shows up). The only thing to fear is HD radio... Ok, that was another joke.

Orford, I hate to break any illusions of grandeure, but you definately have them. Treating these stocks historically rather than hysterically, the two have bounced anywhere from 25 to 50% on day one, prior to settling back down to about a 17% gain. This means that Sirius stock should jump between 72 cents and $1.25 ($3-$3.50) before settling back down to about $2.75.

XM on the other hand will not trade in the same ranges, but instead be based on the arb spread. With Sirius between $3 and $3.50, this will price XM at $13.80 and $16.10, before settling down to around $12.75 at the end of the day, where it will cease to trade.

Given XMs closing price on Friday of 9.28, at the high point this represents approximately 73% gain. Not a bad haul if you are not in too deep, but no where near what you are hallucinating about. May spike to $10? I will asume you are talking about Sirius, because XM hitting $10 is a given. That would put each XM share value at $46!!! Please ship me some of what ever you are smoking...

    • Analysts Weigh in on Sirius Following Earnings [view article]
Not to mention, I am sure those funds go into some sort of interest bearing account.

XM in their conference call stated that if they were to include parkinglot subs, it would increase thier total subscriber count to 10.8 million. The problem is that they are including all cars on lots, not just ones that they have or will be paid for.

They are going to have to come up with an efficient and transparent method of counting subs once they get together or else this could get very confusing.

    • A Look at Satellite Radio Earnings, Subscribers [view article]
      You are not missing much...

Oh, except for the fact that RIAA is going after all of the internet radio people. They are going to have to start paying subsidies to the RIAA, and increase in subsidies means an increase in COMMERCIALS.

Thats what you are missing with SatRad. The commercials. I have listened to SatRad for the past 3 years, and any time I ride with a friend, having commercials playing for half of my drive drives me CRAZY.

Plus, when is this mobile internet technology going to happen? I have heard a lot about it... mostly how agreements are falling apart. You are going to trust Sprint - the biggest looser in the cell phone business - to be in charge of developing this technology? Good luck... Do they have their walkie-talkie phones working yet? I bought one 4 years ago, is it working yet?

    • XM's Q1 Miss Reflects Investment in OEM Channel [view article]
While the report was definately not good, it was not bad either.

Increase in subscribers with a decrease in CPGA.
      Stable churn, increasing conversions.
SAC is expected to be higher because of heavy investment into OEMs.
Decent increase in revenue, but not as good as some had expected.

With the OEM sector bogged down right now, this was a decent report... but it may only get worse from here if the OEMs are as bad as it appears. It usually takes 3-6 months (sometimes a year) depending on the trial service to really see the impact of OEM issues...

    • Sirius / XM Merger: No Surrender [view article]
The wait is rediculous. The private interest groups are rediculous. The people including congressmen, AGs, and private interest groups turning this merger into a racial issue is rediculous. The whole process is rediculous.

I have written several articals on SiriusBuzz.com website forums as well as Fool.com forums stating my arguments on this merger, but it doesnt matter. Politics and money speak much louder than the American Public. Even with all of the support for this merger, this thing has drug on for a rediculous amount of time. It is time to end this thing and approve the merger.

    • Sirius/XM Deal Extension - More Pending Action [view article]
I have never doubted the extension of the deal.

What has been in doubt is the language that the two companies will use when they release the extension. Will they be laid back and confident? Or will they be firm and angry? I want to see the FIRM response, so that they can let the FCC know that they are NOT walking away from this deal without a decision.

    • CITI: $8 Target on Sirius [view article]
I have to say, this guy is a nut. 55 million subs by 2011? That means that the combined company would have to grow by over 200% by adding nearly 38 million subs from where it is now in the next THREE YEARS. Not happening.

I say this as one of the biggest supporters of the merger, so dont jump down my throat so quickly. I am just being realistic. There is no way the company grows over 200% in the next 3 years. Even at a VERY nice growth rate of 21% per year, that only puts the combined company at 45 million subs, and that is a tough growth rate to maintain.

Love the fact that this guy believes in the combined company and that the merger is a done deal, but we must be realistic in our expectations.

    • Still Too Early to Buy Sirius - Merrill [view article]
I think this guy is being a bit short sighted on subscriber growth. He forecasts 40 mil subscribers by 2018, which is only 2 million a year for the next 10 years. XM/Sirius have been growing their subscriber base by 30% consistantly, and with OEMs increasing their ramp up, I do not see 2 mil subs per year as an issue. Incrase that number to 3 million per year, and you have 50 million subs by 2018, which Campbell states adds another $1 to the valuation. I think that is very obtainable. I think the poor economy right now has a lot of analysts looking very short sighted. Apr 13 02:10 PM
    • Attorneys General Lobbying Against XM-Sirius License Transfer [view article]
This letter was published a week ago. It is old news.

Besides that, the letter requested 3 things: A la carte programming, interop radios, and spectrum. 2 out of three have already been promised. Spectrum is pretty much a given as long as it is around the 5% that is being asked for by consumer groups as opposed to the 20% being requested by a for-profit money hungry race-card playing certain company (no names mentioned).

This letter should not have even made the news. The only thing that wasnt known before is how they were "disappointed&quo... with the fact that there were no conditions attatched...

Never did they say there were against the merger outright.
