Key Quotes from Agilent on WIMAX, Semi-conductors and China
That's because America is much smarter...we're waiting for LTE. Vodaphone seems to be behind it so I trust them a bit more than companies that are new.

Can WiMAX Triumph Over Its Competitors?
LTE is a new 4G technology & will not be controlled by the old 3GGP. It will, just like WiMax, be offered as an option as a built in accessory to computers. While Sprextel/Clearwire do have a ton of 2.5GHz spectrum, one forgets that once LTE launches on the newly acquired 700MHz, the carriers will be moving everyone over to LTE, which frees up their 850MHz & 1.9GHZ spectrum to be used as well. This will more than compensate for the 2.5 that the "new" Clearwire will have. The 700 & 850MHz spectrum in my humble opinion is more valuable for its penetration value than 2.5GHz is as well.

Are you referring to VZW not taking the iPhone when offered (they were offered it first from Apple but turned it down, bringing in AT&T as a 2nd choice) as a "blunder?" I would keep an eye on the Blackberry Storm coming out next month & then we can revisit the reason why...that & the sheer number of consumers having issues with the supposed high speed network AT&T offers.

Clearwire: WiMax Rollout Begins, Signifies Industry Changing Potential
WiMax is not a free offering so believe me, people will have to know it's on their devices or it won't connect. It will also not be available all over the country in my opinion until well after LTE launches...& then it will have lost whatever little time to market advantage it had.

Hold on tight customers, time to experience some problems with this junk from Clearwire!

It's not the technology, just the company from what I'm reading about complaints (clearwiresucks.com/blo.../).

Let's also take COCOViper's comments with "a grain of salt." He's a Sprextel employee so I imagine bias is relevant.

And then ask all of us whether we trust anything that AT&T tells us. Might as well rate Bush as the best president ever. If you read Wireless Week & RCR you would see that T-Mobile has tested a cluster of sites along a stretch of highway with LTE already. Verizon Wireless will do the same by end of year.

Just because Sprint/Nextel/Clearwir... (whatever they're calling themselves this week) launches one market (which by the way was delayed almost an entire year) doesn't make this a coup. Let's revisit this blog again, one year from now to see what we all have to say.

I believe since existing carriers already have their customers "heading the data way (i.e.-more ARPU coming from the data than voice offerings)" they have a head start. Backhaul is definitely going to be an issue though for CDMA carriers as I can guarantee most of what they currently have in service (including microwave) is not currently at the multiple DS3's that will be required per cell site.

Don't be fooled that LTE is that far behind. Apparently the word is that T-Mobile has already tested clusters of sites & Verizon Wireless will be doing the same. Per the Lucent internal website, the only equipment that needs to be added to a CDMA Mod 4.0 cabinet (currently used by CDMA carriers) is a single module (in addition to OFDM capable antenna's) which brings time to market down considerably.

But they really are terrible. Just do a bit of research & you'll see the customer complaints all over the place. Yes I know, everyone has upset customers...but nothing to the extent I've seen with Clearwire. They even have their own website dedicated by disgruntled customers; haven't seen that for other carriers (clearwiresucks.com).

Yet again you claim to have read my previous posts where I have stated this numerous times...MetroPCS. We don't sell data so not sure how I would be envious of a "startup" company that sells junk. Once we do start selling data I'm sure Sprextel/Clearwire will be something we talk about in passing...with quite a few jokes!

I see you haven't denied working for Sprextel/Clearwire so we're all assuming that's why you're so defensive...good luck there bud!

Actually Ops Mgr. Dr. Ernest Simo is a well respected engineer & author of many books. He's a nationally recognized trainer in wireless technologies. As usual in all my responses to your uneducated posts, try doing some background research before posting crap...again, go back to work Sprextel/Clearwire sales puke!
