The target of the manipulation is not the stock, nor the company. The target is the small uneducated investor who will bail at the first sign of a price drop. The credo stay long, keep it long is lost by neophite investor. The company's name attracts the neophites. Once the numbers of institutional investors get lower than the individual investors, the manipulation kicks in. Oct 08 05:44 PM

Similar manipulation in '03. . . . . . . Manipulative focus jumps around as not to be too obvious. . . . Although they did put together a 62 trading day session string keeping the proce below a buck.

The last time this stock was this low was back in 10/01/2002-05/09/2003. I'm talking about an extended bender. It's like the dog was out in the woods with it's nose to the ground.

If this drop follows the historical timeframe of the last time it went below $1, it will be April before we come out (May converts).

If this drop follows the last time it hit the 40s then we have at least 8 more weeks of this crap (Gee Christmas sales), with the bottom hitting right around relmors target within two weeks.

( I believe it will only hit .38).

tag it, bag it. . . . . . . ring me up for 10K if it goes below .40

ML & their 401K rules are stifling.........
Trading elsewhere soon, to average down more.

This is a long term investment on my part, and I'll hang on to the leash of the blue dog for quite a while. I will, from time to time, feed blue a few more shares. The postings on this and other boards regarding the frustration of getting the "Best of" bodes well! It sounds like the Blue Dog has had puppies, and there are quite a few takers!!!

The key to the rise of the stock price is the removal of the 1.50 equity transaction. A subsequent deal that includes interest only would be very attractive to investors. These investors are not the banks. These groups are companies like Blackstone & Cerebrus. I would imagine a possible consortium of independants teaming up would be cheaper than the current situation. The bailout itself affect businesses and people who need money. The Fed's will not let a total failure happen. So, loans will be impossible. But, If you need a loan......please take a number and wait!!!! Sep 29 04:53 PM

By time frame.. I mean the number of months per share price change. The lack of equity interest in SIRIXM by GS will force a change in their coverage (Maybe a drop).

Taking a page out of investopedia.com
      www.investopedia.com/a...

I took the siri numbers and placed them into the example

Looking into the Trailing stop, also fits into the scenario that the stock price channel is currently stuck in.
The Workings of a Trailing Stop

      Purchase Price = $.97
Last Price at Time of Setting Trailing Stop = $.99
Trailing Amount = .002 per share
Immediate Effective Stop Loss Value = $.988

If the market price climbs to $1.00, your trailing stop value will also rise to $.998. If the last price now drops to $.999, your stop value will remain intact at $.998. If the price continues to drop, this time to $.9979, it will penetrate your stop level, immediately triggering a market order. Your order would be submitted based on a last price of $.9979. Assuming that the bid price was $.9979 at the time, the position would be closed at this point and price. The net gain would be .00279 cents per share less commissions.

I admit that these are fractional penny situations , but in greater numbers, this situation ran along with the Stop-Limit Order makes perfect sense of the price channel stagnation.

The current rule does allow for pre-exiting shorts to remain. These pre-existing shorts (if they're smart) are most likely covered by Sells with Stop Price orders. Either way, these orders are now getting caught with their pants down. The 799 Market Makers will not jump into the short blood bath that will soon follow.
      -------Pants down-----
      -----bath-------------...
      -----naked shorts-----
      All seems to make sense

A reduction in the number of a corporation's shares outstanding that increases the par value of its stock or its earnings per share. The market value of the total number of shares (market capitalization) remains the same.

For example, a 1-for-2 reverse split means you get half as many shares, but at twice the price. It's usually a bad sign if a company is forced to reverse split - firms do it to make their stock look more valuable when, in fact, nothing has changed. A company may also do a reverse split to avoid being delisted.

      BDP,
Sorry to be a pessimist. But, what's your source.

      sl26,
You are thinking the same as myself. I believe that someone has indicated that a solution to the near term loan (Feb '09) is at hand. The amount of shares sold/bought at one time indicates a substantial player. The last time announcements were made, they were post market. I believe that someone (group) is trying to time the move!

Anyone have an idea of the Volumes of 3.6m, 18.2m,16.5m toward the end of the day. I doubt that they were buring a hole in someone's portfolio. No Web news coincide with the spike.
