Some of these companies have significant liabilities that see unaccounted for in your list. FBN is the one I have in mind.

Expert: Proposed Plan to Bail Out Delinquent Homeowners May Face Too Many Problems to Succeed
It would be great to help bone fide homeowners who are stuck. But the investor scheemers and dodgy mortgage brokers will figure out how to access these funds in order to enrich themselves. If there were a good way to separate the wheat from the chaff it would be great.

The Global Economy: Is Deflation the Next Macro Story?
The gov't can easily inflate any time. The minimum wage will never be cut, so wage deflation has a bottom limit. Something else is going on here. We probably won't find out until after the election, or even later.

I want the bandwidth hogs contained. They slow down my service. People who want huge bandwidth access should be paying for it.

Some Consequences if Oil Prices Stay High
Also, regarding shooting nuclear waste into space via rocket; Nuclear waste is extremely heavy, heavier than lead. Massive rockets would be necessary. Along with the risk of scattering nuclear material if there were a rocket explosion as said above. Burying it in a deep hold under Yucca mountain, or similar place, seems the best solution at this point.

We have corn ethanol, get used to it. It may have gotten overdone last year, but as a replacement to MTBE we will have it in our gas for a long time.

      Obama's Misguided Ethanol Policy
Ethanol is only being used because the farm state senators have pushed for it and they are important votes. Obama is from Illinois, which has a bunch of farmers. Ethanol is false hope, as it takes as much energy to produce as it yields. And food prices rise as acreage is devoted to its' production. Our energy policy is whatever sounds good on TV and might get votes for the proponents.
