Is Hansen Natural a Value Trap?
Very good analysis. Provides basis for investing or at least swapping $ out of some other stocks into HANS.

      The Citi Exclusivity Agreement
The agreement between Citigroup and Wachovia is posted here:
      www.marketwatch.com/ne...

It does not show Citigroup's signature. Though it is signed by Wachovia official, his name and Title are not shown. Assuming Wachovia received the agreement with Citigroup's signature, I find it a clear violation by Wachovia and Wells Fargo officials to negotiate and sign a deal. My feeling is the Courts will declare Wachovia and Wells Fargo deal null and void and Wells Fargo will not be allowed to take over Wachovia. The only solution is for Citigroup and Wells Fargo to explore if they can divide Wachovia assets in a mutually beneficial deal.

Do Rising Stock Prices Mean Fundamentals Have Bottomed?
The author well said the psychology behind price movement. Understanding this, investors, with knowledge of fundamentals of a stock, can buy and sell for profit, as well as, take steps against paper losses.

Is the Tide Turning for Blackstone?
When I read one of the recent transcripts, I got the impression that they are not honest. They claim to have good amount of capital to invest and they are purposefully not investing as they were looking for better opportunity. When I looked at their Balance sheet, the capital they were talking about was mostly intangible.

SEC Subpoenas More Than 50 Hedge Fund Advisors
I find fault with stock brokers. If you have a (non-IRA) brokerage account, and so long it is a margin account, the broker is free to lend your stock (to a short seller). The broker does not need to inform you ahead and you don't have any right to instruct the broker not to lend your stock (it is part of the agreement when you open a margin account). If SEC prohibits brokers from lending an account holder's stock if the latter does not want, the short selling will diminish and the price will not fall as much thereby benefiting the account holder.

      What's Behind Hansen's Smackdown?
As it often happens, the real reason will be made known only after the knowledgeable few have dumped their holdings and / or completed their slow and steady short selling. The short interest is now around 30% of the outstanding and has been steadily increasing since November of 2007. It has accelerated last month (June).

JP Morgan To Buy Bear Stearns For $2/Share
This is a tragedy for investors and emphasizes the need for Federal Government to control the banks and other institutions when it comes to over-leveraging with shareholders' money. Initially I was thinking JP Morgan was taking undue advantage of Bear Stearns situation by offering only $2 /share, but then realized that they are taking lot more risk just to calm the markets. Now they (JPM) will be more leveraged as a result of takeover of Bear Stearns.
