Exelon (EXC): "That's a growth utility. That one is terrific; they don't need new plants; they've got Nukes!"

Duke Energy (DUK): "They've got a visionary leader. I like them OK. They've got a good yield, but I like Consolidated Edison (ED) more for yield."

Consolidated Edison (ED)

Verizon (VZ): "Both Verizon and AT&T T are being seen as dead money if Obama wins and stops treating dividends favorably. But I don't buy into that and want to buy both of them here."

AT&T (T)

Ener1 (HEV): "That's one of my favorite speculations. I think that you want to be in that. It's a lithium battery company."

Sociedad Quimica (SQM): "I also like Sociedad Quimica SQM as an even better play."

Bearish calls:

Pep Boys (PBY): "Manny, Moe and Jack have no pep left. I do not want to be in that stock. I say sell, sell, sell."

Brush Engineered Materials (BW): "All of these are related to Boeing. If there is a comeback at all coming, it'll be with United Technologies or Honeywell not with any of these suppliers."

SunTrust Banks (STI): "That's not the same SunTrust I once knew and loved. I want to be very honest; it's a shadow of its former self. You need to sell that one."

Owens Illinois (OI): "They've got huge natural gas exposure. Down here at $41 I'm on the fence. I need to see the quarter before I can buy again."

Wachovia (WB): "Wachovia just now, yes, just now, decided to stop offering adjustable rate mortgages. I do not like Wachovia and I'm very worried about them."

Emcore (EMKR): "This one is a mosaic of companies. If you want it as a speculative stock, it's OK, but otherwise, this one's not for me."
